I made this recipe last night and planned on it being my post for today, not realizing that I already had a different version of it on my website! As this is a family favorite – and by far the most requested thing for me to make when the kids come to visit – I decided that it deserved two entries on Mangia Monday! This version of Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe from Panning the Globe is quite similar to the other one that I shared before, but has a bit more garlic, uses the full pound of pasta like I always do, and substitutes Pecorino (my favorite!) for the parmesan. It also has make ahead instructions which can be helpful as well. I will say that I prefer the cooking instructions from the other recipe, which has you use the same pot to cook the broccoli rabe and the pasta, though, because it is one less pot to clean! Instead of draining the broccoli rabe, you can take it out with tongs and then cook the pasta in the same water while you are working on the sauce in another pan.
Here is the recipe again! I promise it is easy and will be a crowd pleaser in your house.
